FAQ
-
Intravenous (IV) nutrient therapy involves the administration of fluids containing vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream via a peripheral intravenous cannula.
As this method bypasses the digestive system, it may be appropriate in certain clinical contexts where oral intake is not suitable, or where intravenous delivery is indicated.
Some individuals choose IV therapy as part of their broader approach to supporting hydration and general wellbeing. Suitability for treatment is determined following an individual clinical assessment.
Each infusion is prescribed and prepared based on individual considerations, including medical history and current health status. All treatments are conducted using sterile, single-use equipment and are administered by a qualified Registered Nurse within a safe clinical environment.
-
IV nutrient therapy is a clinical procedure that may be appropriate for some individuals when delivered by a qualified health professional. As with any medical treatment, there are potential risks and it may not be suitable for everyone. Suitability is determined following a comprehensive consultation and assessment.
-
Your appointment will begin with a consultation to review your medical history, and assess suitability. If appropriate, an IV infusion will be administered by a qualified Registered Nurse using sterile, single-use equipment in a clinical setting
-
Treatment times can vary depending on the type of infusion prescribed, though appointments typically range from 30 to 60 minutes.
-
Some individuals choose IV therapy as part of their broader approach to supporting hydration and general wellbeing, including during periods such as illness, travel or increased physical activity or stress. IV therapy may also be considered where dietary nutrient intake is inadequate or when clinically indicated.
As nutrients are administered intravenously, they enter the bloodstream directly. The appropriateness of this method is determined following an individual clinical assessment.
Responses to treatment can vary between individuals. Some people report subjective improvements in how they feel following treatment; however, outcomes are not guaranteed.
-
Standard IV nutrient therapy involves the use of pre-formulated infusions containing fluids and nutrients commonly selected for general support. These formulations are designed to provide a consistent approach within a clinical framework.
Individually tailored IV therapy may also be considered following a consultation and clinical assessment. Where appropriate, Nurse Charlee may adjust the formulation based on relevant factors such as medical history, current health status, and individual considerations.
This allows for a choice between standardised formulations and an individually assessed approach, with all treatments provided within a safe and regulated clinical setting.
-
The frequency of treatment varies depending on individual circumstances and clinical considerations. This will be discussed with you during your consultation.
